In the few days following the emergence of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) as the single largest party – though short of a majority – after the July 25 election, speculation has been rife about the influence of the Pakistani army on his administration and what his foreign policy towards neighbouring countries like India and China will be like.

On Wednesday, before the election results were announced, WikiLeaks published a 2012 interview of Khan with the organisation’s founder Julian Assange. The old but crucial interview was held during the run-up to the 2013 general elections, and reveals the PTI leader’s stand on issues like internal power struggle between various factions in Pakistan and relations with the US and India.

The discussion was a part of the Assange’s former television show The World Tomorrow.
