Watch: Young Thai footballers made to relive their traumatic rescue from cave for public viewing
At a Bangkok shopping centre, the boys were made to crawl through a ‘tunnel’ in replication of their ordeal in June.
Ever since their nerve-wracking rescue from the Chang Rai cave gripped the world, the young Thai footballers and their coach have been presented repeatedly to the media and the public, despite professional advice against it.
In a Bangkok shopping mall, things really went too far when the boys were made to re-enact their traumatic ordeal for an audience by crawling through a faux 33-foot tunnel. This was part of “Tham Luang’s Incredible Mission: The Global Agenda”, an exhibition on the rescue operation at Bangkok’s Siam Paragon Mall.
Psychologists had strongly advised against putting the boys through any kind of high-pressure experience for at least six months after their rescue.
