As Hurricane Florence continues to wreak havoc in the United States, fresh aerial footage shows just how much damage was caused in the town of New Bern, North Carolina.

More than 400 residents in the town with a population of 30,000 had to be evacuated due to floods triggered by incessant rains. A video of the inundated town was posted by Associated Press.

ABC affiliate WTVD quoted Mayor Dana Outlaw as saying on Sunday that there were concerns about trees falling due to the nature of the soil and the water in many creeks in the area was “increasing by the hour.”
