At least 13 refugees, including four children, have died after their dinghy collided with a ferry off Turkey, the coastguard there says. The accident occurred close to the port of Canakkale. The boat was on its way to the Greek island of Lesbos. In a second incident, Greece’s coastguard said 26 people were feared missing from a boat, also off Lesbos.
Patel group in US opposes rally against Modi
A section of the Patel community on Sunday said they are opposed to a planned rally against Narendra Modi when he visits the US this week, even as another group in the Silicon Valley said they would hold protests against his government's handling of the recent reservation agitation in Gujarat. In a media statement, the first group of Patels said they believe that the agitation in India is politically motivated and that the protests do not represent the voice of the entire Patel community.

At least five people were killed in a suicide bomb attack on Sunday in the northern Cameroon town of Mora, military officials said, in what appeared to be the latest cross-border attack by Nigeria’s Boko Haram Islamist militant group. A police officer and two civilians were among the dead after two female suicide bombers detonated themselves near the entrance to the town.
Nepal adopts constitution amid protests
Nepal on Sunday adopted its new fully secular and democratic constitution, drafted after seven years of painstaking deliberations, amid violent protests by minority Madhesi groups over its seven province federal structure. President Ram Baran Yadav said the newly promulgated "Constitution 2072" has institutionalised republicanism. He hoped that the constitution would lead Nepal to economic development.
More than 20 wounded in civilian attacks
Three people were wounded in a suicide attack Sunday in Afghanistan, while 21 other civilians were wounded in a separate attack. Police officials said the suicide car bomber targeted a police checkpoint in the Daman district. Elsewhere, 16 civilians were wounded after a bomb hidden near an electric station exploded in eastern Kunar province, said Gen. Abdul Habib Sayedkhaili, the provincial police chief. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
