On Sunday evening, in a charity match, yoga guru Baba Ramdev was seen kicking around a football while clothed in his trademark saffron dhoti-dress. Social media couldn't help but take notice of his all-rounder skills.

The football match in question was organised in New Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in an attempt to raise awareness for two of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flagship initiatives – the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign. The event witnessed parliamentarians and Bollywood actors, who are members of the All Stars Football Club, facing off in the field.

The charity match also aimed to promote football in the country, before India gets ready to host the Under-17 FIFA World Cup next year.

The Minister of State for Heavy Industries Babul Supriyo led the team of MPs, which also included BJP leader Manoj Tiwari and former Indian football captain and Trinamool Congress MP Prasun Banerjee. The All Stars FC team of Bollywood actors included Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Siddharth Malhotra, Dino Morea and was captained by Abhishek Bachchan.

Despite the star-studded players on the field, all eyes were on Ramdev as he tried, quite a few times, scoring a goal, albeit unsuccessfully.

"I support both the politicians and the actors," he had announced at the beginning of the match. "Baba doesn't take sides."

Actor Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor's father, also took to Twitter to laugh at the expense of the yoga guru.

Ramdev was in the news recently for his modelling skills on the cover of the newsweekly India Today.

At the end of the one-sided match, Team Bollywood lifted the cup with a score of 10-0.

Social media did not miss the opportunity to turn the football match into a meme-worthy trend. Here is a selection of the funny tweets.
