A six-member team comprising officials from the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Delhi and Mumbai Police reached Bali on Sunday to seek the deportation of captured underworld gangster Chhota Rajan. The team is carrying all the relevant documents needed for Rajan's deportation, including his crime history and a court warrant against him, reported The Times of India.

Rajan, who was arrested in Bali last Sunday after eluding law enforcement agencies for over two decades, received consular access on Sunday with an Indian diplomat meeting him at Indonesian police's detention centre. Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Gurjit Singh had said on Friday that Rajan's deportation process had already begun, but there is no deadline for it.

Rajan is wanted in India for over 75 crimes ranging from terrorism, murder, extortion, smuggling and drug trafficking. He is a close confidante-turned-rival of underworld gangster Dawood Ibrahim, the prime accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.
