Two killed in blast at Meghalaya market
Militant group Garo National Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the attack, which left at least seven people injured.
Two people were killed in an explosion at a market in Williamnagar, Meghalaya, on Saturday afternoon. At least seven people have been injured, according to reports. A senior police official said that Garo National Liberation Army took responsibility for the attack, NDTV reported. The insurgency group is one of many that are active in the Garo Hills region. More than 10 other smaller militant outfits are believed to be operational in the area.
Inspector General of Police (Operations) told PTI an investigation had been launched, and that all the injured were moved to a nearby civil hospital for treatment.
