A complaint was filed against Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan at New Delhi’s Ashok Nagar Police Station on Monday for allegedly singing the national anthem incorrectly ahead of the World Twenty20 match between India and Pakistan on Saturday. Bachchan sang the national anthem at Eden Gardens in Kolkata before the match began. Complainant Ulhas PR claimed that the actor sang the anthem incorrectly and it lasted for a minute and 22 seconds, as against the 52-second duration stated in the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs, reported The Indian Express.

According to a dna report, Ulhas had filed a similar complaint against Bachchan at the Juhu Police Station in Mumbai, alleging that he had sung the national anthem incorrectly before a Pro Kabaddi League match. The report also said that the actor had used “wrong words” while singing the national anthem in Kolkata on Saturday.

The Cricket Association of Bengal also dismissed reports that Bachchan had charged Rs 4 crore as his appearance fee during the match. The CAB said that Bachchan did not charge a single penny for the event.
