12 suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed operatives detained in Delhi after IB raids: Reports
While there is no official confirmation on the developments, police officials told various news agencies that materials used to make bombs have been seized.
The Intelligence Bureau on Wednesday detained 12 people believed to be operatives of the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror group, who were working out of the Nation Capital Region and Deoband in Uttar Pradesh. According to The Times of India, eight suspects were picked up in Delhi, while the rest were found in Deoband. At least three of the 12 suspects are likely to be arrested, the Hindustan Times reported. However, no official information on the raids has been provided by the bureau so far.
The suspects are reportedly being interrogated in the special cell’s headquarters at Lodhi Colony. They were found to be in possession of materials used to make bombs and other explosive devices. A First Information Report has been filed under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and the Explosives Act. The terror group is believed to be behind the Pathankot attacks in January, in which 13 people were killed.
