News channel CNN-News18 on Wednesday claimed to have located the Karachi home of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

One of India's most wanted people, Ibrahim is the mastermind of the 1993 serial blasts in Mumbai, which killed more than 250 people and injured 700 others.

Over the past 23 years, India has on several occasions provided dossiers to Pakistan, claiming that Ibrahim has been living in Karachi's posh Clifton neighbourhood. However, Islamabad has repeatedly denied these claims.

Now, a sting operation conducted by CNN-News18 claims to have identified Ibrahim's address as D 13, Block 4, Clifton, Karachi. Reporters took a bike ride within a 500-metre radius of the property, masquerading as creditors of a local contractor working at Dawood Ibrahim's house. They interviewed locals and even the bungalow's security guards. The guards did not deny that the bungalow belonged to a man named Dawood Ibrahim, while the locals all pointed them in the same direction when asked about Dawood Ibrahim's house.

The sting operation video showed top angle shots of the house. The property was barricaded and is surrounded on two sides by empty, vacant plots of land. The compound also has three-metre high walls, barricades leading up to the entrance and private security guards manning it 24x7. There is a mosque inside the compound.
