Maruti Suzuki India is recalling more than 75,000 units of its Baleno hatchback and DZire sedan to upgrade and fix defective components. In 75,419 Balenos – both petrol and diesel models – manufactured between August 3, 2015, and May 17, 2016, the automaker will upgrade the airbag controller software. It will also replace faulty fuel filters in 15,995 diesel units manufactured between August 3, 2015 and March 22, 2016, the company said in a statement. Of the Balenos cars included in the recall are 17,231 exported units.

Moreover, the car manufacturer is calling back 1,961 units of its DZire model with auto gear shift technology to inspect and replace a flawed fuel filter. The company clarified that all software upgrades and replacement of faulty fuel filters will be done free of cost. Maruti Suzuki dealers will begin contacting owners of the vehicles from May 31, PTI reported.
