India's contingent for the upcoming Olympics in Rio de Janeiro continues to grow, with three more athletes qualifying on Sunday for the mega-event.

Long jumper Ankit Sharma secured his spot after recording a jump of 8.17 m, achieving the qualification mark. In his next attempt, he set a new national record, jumping 8.19 m at the XXVI International Meeting in Kazakhstan.

Srabani Nanda from Odisha also qualified for the 200 m women's sprint event, after clocking a time of 23.07 seconds. Archer Atanu Das was selected to represent India in the men's individual event at the Games, which begins on August 5.

Earlier on Saturday, sprinters Dutee Chand and Mohammad Anas qualified for the women's 100 m and men's 400 m categories, respectively. In a first, their qualification took the Indian contingent at the Olympics to more than 100 members.
