The 15-year-old girl who was gangraped in Bulandshahr on July 29 has approached the Supreme Court seeking a First information Report against Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan for his remarks regarding the incident, reported NDTV. The survivor has also appealed to apex court to transfer the case to the Capital and oversee the investigation.

After the incident came to light, Khan said, "We need to investigate whether this is a conspiracy by opponents who want to defame the government." His comments drew strong criticism from all quarters.

In her petition, the girl also requested security and rehabilitation for her family. reported The Indian Express. “Everyone in our locality knows what happened. There are media persons waiting outside our house. We have not been able to go home because of embarrassment. How will we be able to live with respect there?" said the survivor's father. He said the family has no other option but to relocate.

The incident took place when the family was travelling to Shahjahanpur to attend a relative's funeral. A gang of highway robbers surrounded their car around midnight, and forced all of them into a field nearby. There, they gangraped the girl and her mother. The assailants carried out the attack barely 100 meters from a police post. However, the police allegedly took hours to reach the spot.
