Andhra Pradesh announces Rs 3-crore award for shuttler PV Sindhu for Olympics silver win
The 21-year-old Hyderabad resident will also get a house measuring 1,000 sq yards as well as a job with the state government.
The Andhra Pradesh government on Saturday announced a reward of Rs 3 crore for badminton player PV Sindhu for her silver medal win at the Rio Olympics. In addition to the cash award, the shuttler will also get a house measuring 1,000 sq yards in state capital Amaravati as well as a government job, ANI reported.
Earlier, the Telangana government had announced an award of Rs 1 crore for the 21-year-old Hyderabad resident. The Badminton Association of India and the Madhya Pradesh government also announced cash prizes of Rs 50 lakh for Sindhu, while the All India Football Federation will give her and bronze medal-winning wrestler Sakshi Malik Rs 5 lakh each.
