Three militants were killed in an encounter by the security forces on Thursday in Arwani area of Kashmir’s Anantnag district, IANS reported. Combing operations in the area are under way. Mobile and internet services were suspended in parts of Kashmir since Wednesday evening.

The encounter that broke out in Hussanpora village last evening is still reportedly under way. A search operation was launched on Thursday morning in Bijbehara area of the same district after the Army received intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the village, PTI reported.

One of the militants gunned down in the fire exchange was reportedly identified as Laskar-e-Taiba commander Abu Dujana. He was one of the most wanted militants in the region, IANS reported. Security officials have not confirmed Dujana’s death yet.
