Hungarian-born Hollywood actress Zsa Zsa Gabor died on Sunday at the age of 99 at her home in Los Angeles, United States. Her publicist Edward Lozzi said her health had been declining for several years.

A former Miss Hungary, Gabor moved to the United States with her sisters Eva and Magda during World War II. While her celebrity status outshone her career as an actress, she is known for her roles in Moulin Rouge and Lili. In the 1960s Batman series, she played the villain Minerva. She acted in more than 60 television movies and feature films.

Her personal life, and in particular her nine marriages, were the subject of tremendous gossip . “I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man, I keep his house,” she famously said. Another quote made famous by her was, “A girl must marry for love, and keep on marrying until she finds it.” Her spouses included a Turkish diplomat, hotel heir Conrad Hilton, actor George Sanders, an industrialist, an oil magnate, a toy designer, a divorce lawyer and a man often referred to in the news media as the Duke of Saxony

In her last years, she suffered a stroke, broken bones from an accident, a broken hip, and had her leg amputated after it became infected.
