The trailer for Sharat Katariya’s Sui Dhaaga: Made in India, starring Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma, was released on Monday.
The trailer shows Dhawan’s Mauji as a free-spirited man who tolerates daily humiliations by his employer with a smile. Mamta, his wife (Sharma), urges him to live a life of dignity, by following his talent for stitching. While tracing their struggle to get their business off the ground, the film pays homage to India’s rich handloom culture and Mahatma Gandhi’s campaign for economic self-reliance.
Sui Dhaaga will be released on September 28. The Yash Raj Films production has music by Anu Malik, who provided the 1990s retro soundtrack of Katariya’s Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015).
