Anupam, Swaraj India Delhi Chief and organiser of ‘Yuva Halla Bol’ protest, and four others were booked by Delhi Police on Tuesday. The five were part of the protest on March 31st at Parliament Street in New Delhi against irregularities in Staff Selection Commission (SSC) examination.

Deputy Commission of Police Madhur Verma said to IANS, “Anupam and others have been named in the FIR on charge of disobeying an order duly promulgated by a public servant.”

In response, Anupam said that he was surprised about the FIR against him as he and others who were booked had helped to quell some anti-social elements in the protest.

He also added, “It is a ploy to dilute the nationwide movement against the SSC scam. But such tactics will not help and students will fight till the end for their right to fair selection in government jobs through the SSC.”

The protesters had called for the country’s youth to gather at the national capital on March 31st for Yuva Halla Bol to protest against irregularities in recruitment for government jobs and demand the resignation of Jitendra Singh (Union Minister of State for Personnel).
