The Police have apprehended a man whom they believe helped Staff Selection Commission (SSC) candidates to solve the question paper using remote access software, according to the Times of India. The accused was identified based on the interrogation of the people who were arrested previously by the Delhi Police and Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force in connection with the SSC paper leak.

In the ToI report, the accused has been identified as Deepak who owns a cyber café. Deepak would allegedly act as a middleman between paper solvers and candidates. According to the report, he would install remote access software on computers that would help solvers take control of candidates’ computers during the SSC examination.

Previously in the case, the police probing the SSC leak had arrested four people whom they believe started the racket using SSC examinations centres. Later, these accused managed to run an examination centre of their own. Police suspect that Deepak is part of the syndicate.

The police are yet to determine how many candidates might have taken the help of this racket to cheat during the SSC exams and to what extent this scam has penetrated the system.
