The result date for the UPSC Civil Services Prelim exams is to be announced today on the official UPSC website, upsc.gov.in, according to a report by the Indian Express. Apparently, the chairman of the Commission, Arvind Saxena, has confirmed to the Indian Express that the UPSC is likely to declare the result date today, July 9th.

The publication also reports that according to another official, the UPSC Civil Services Prelim results are likely to be released on Sunday, July 15th. This would follow last year’s trend of releasing the Civil Services results 45 days after the start of the exams.

This year, the UPSC Civil Services Prelim exam was held on June 3rd and around 3 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. Those who clear the UPSC Civil Services Prelim exam will have to apply for the next round, which includes the Civil Services Main exam. This is to be held on September 28th, 2018.

The UPSC’s Civil Services exam takes place in three rounds or phases – the Prelim exam, the Main exam and the Interview round. The exam is held to fill administrative positions in the government such as in the IAS, IPS and IRS.

On June 21st, the UPSC released a notification giving the timetable for the Civil Services Main exam.
