Nokia released its budget smartphone, the Nokia 3.1, for the Indian market, which will be made available for purchase from today. The stand-out feature of the Nokia 3.1 is that it comes equipped with stock ‘Android One’ software from Google.

HMD Global, the exclusive licensee of the Nokia brand, first launched the Nokia 3.1 in Moscow in late May, NDTV Gadgets had reported. The company has now introduced the phone in the Indian market branding it as “your premium companion”.

The Nokia 3.1 sports an HD+ 5.2-inch display with Corning gorilla glass protection. It houses a 13MP auto-focus rear and an 8MP front camera. The front snapper has a wide 84.6-degree field of view, which is perfect for taking group selfies, the company claims.

As part of the Android One programme, the Nokia 3.1 will receive regular security updates from launch as well as two years’ of major OS upgrades. The phone comes in two variants, but is currently offered in the 2GB RAM, 16GB storage option in India.

Nokia 3.1 India price

The Nokia 3.1 is priced at Rs.10,499 and is available in three colour options; viz, blue/copper, black/chrome, and white/iron. It will be made available on the official Nokia website for India, and will likely make its way to online and brick-and-mortar retail, too.
