Sony Xperia XZ2 launched in India, Xperia XZ2 India price revealed; available from August 1st
Sony Mobile has launched its flagship model, the Xperia XZ2, in India, which boasts 4K HDR recording and water resistant features for the Indian market.
Sony Mobile, the sub-brand of the Japanese Sony Corporation, unveiled the Xperia XZ2 at the 2018 Mobile World Congress held earlier this year, and today, it introduced the smartphone in India. It also revealed the Xperia XZ2 price for India at the launch, which comes just as the world expects the next from the company, the Xperia XZ3, as per a few leaks.
The Xperia XZ2, the brand’s first phone to incorporate curvy design elements, shifting away from the traditional Xperia’s boxy design, comes equipped with high-resolution audio, thanks to front-facing stereo speakers, a completely water-resistant body, and super slow-motion camera capabilities.
The Xperia XZ2 features Sony’s advanced Motion Eye camera technology and 4K HDR video recording, so it is perfect for video enthusiasts. As per company claims, the ‘high dynamic range technology’ ensures that images shot with the Sony Xperia XZ2 get as close as possible to how we see the world in real life, with everything looking more vibrant and jumping off the display.
This flagship phone runs on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. It also integrates Google’s ARCore and Google Lens image searching feature, and will be made available on August 1st in India.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 has been priced in India at Rs.72,990, and will be available in select Sony Centers and select mobile stores across the country, NDTV Gadgets reported. Though the phone is offered in four colour options globally, Sony has launched only the Liquid Black variant in India.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 sports a fluid 3D glass surface, and the display has bezels on top and bottom edges for sensors and the logo, respectively. It comes with a 5.7-inch display and houses a single 19MP Motion Eye camera on the rear. The camera can perform HDR photo and 4K HDR movie recording functions. On the front, the Xperia XZ2 gets a 5MP camera. The phone is powered by a 3,180mAh battery with smart stamina and Qnovo adaptive charging features.
