Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) released vacancies for 4102 bank probationary officer positions on August 9th at its official website, ibps.in. The vacancies are for 20 participating banks and the registration will start from August 14th and the last date to apply for these vacancies is September 4th. All candidates interested in applying for these IBPS positions can register at ibps.in.

The candidates will have to go through three rounds of recruitment phases before getting the provisional job allotment. The first phase is a preliminary exam scheduled to be conducted on October 13th and 14th and October 20th and 21st. Candidates who clear the phase 1 are eligible to appear for the phase 2 or the written exam scheduled for November 18th. The third phase will be an interview round.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates who are interested in participating in the exam need to be above 20 years old and below 30 years. There is relaxation in the maximum age for candidates from reserved categories, 5 years for SC/ST, ex-servicemen, JK domiciled person, and person affected in 1984 riots; 3 years for OBCs; and 10 years for differently-abled person. The candidates must have a graduate degree from any stream.

Examination Pattern:

The Preliminary exam can be given in either English or Hindi language (except for the English test which will be in English). Candidates can score a maximum of 100 marks for 100 objective-type questions testing proficiency in English language, quantitative aptitude, and reasoning ability. Total duration of the exam is 60 minutes.

The Main exam will consist of 155 objective-type questions for 200 marks and candidates will get 3 hours. Candidates will also have to write an essay and a letter in English in 30 minutes which will be of 25 marks. There will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer with no penalty if no answer is attempted.

  2. Click on the link and click on ‘Click here for New Registration’.    
  3. After filling in the basic details, candidates would need to upload scanned copies of their photograph, signature, and left thumb impression.    
  4. Pay the requisite registration fee (Rs. 600 for general candidates and Rs. 100 for candidates from reserved categories).    
  5. Click on final submit button.    
  6. The final submitted document and the e-receipt can be printed out for future reference.
