Born in 1937, Ramanathan Krishnan reached the Wimbledon semi-finals twice and attained a career-high ranking of World No 6.
He made his tennis debut in the Davis Cup at the age of 16 against Belgium in Perth. In 1954, Krishnan became the first Asian player to win the boys' singles title at Wimbledon, beating Ashley Cooper in the final. He got to the Wimbledon in 1960 and 1961.
