Thus, India ended up losing the series 3-1. There was a glimmer of hope after the second Test at Lord’s, where Ishant Sharma produced his best bowling figures of his career to rip through the English batting order and give India a 1-0 lead in the series. India from then on went on a downward spiral and it only kept getting worse. The BCCI have ruled out a change in the Test team captain while Ravi Shashtri will "oversee and guide" India during the One-Day series and the one-off T20 match.
