ART Diary Entries at Gallery Espace
This all-women group show, curated by art critic and writer Gayatri Sinha, features the works of Hemali Bhuta, Sheba Chhachhi, Benitha Perciyal, Paula Sengupta and Nilima Sheikh. The works are a mix of installations and paintings that attempt to capture the spirit of a diary as a place in which the past, present and future come together.

FESTIVAL 29th Garden Tourism Festival at The Garden of Five Senses
This festival, organised annually by Delhi Tourism, will have a flower show, theme gardens, a plant show and sale, activities for kids, and workshops on gardening. Tickets priced at Rs 30 per person for adults and Rs 10 per person for senior citizens and children up to 12 years of age will be available at the gate. PHOTOGRAPHY On the Set with Pier Paolo Pasolini at India International Centre
The exhibition is a series of photographs, which were taken during the production of the Italian neo-realist writer and director’s films, with actors such as Orson Welles, Silvana Mangano, Toto, Ninetto Davoli and Franco Citti. The exhibition is part of the IIC Film Club festival Re-visiting the Masters of Cinema.

This market, organised by NGO Dastkar, which supports Indian craftspeople, will feature handicrafts such as woven bamboo and sabai grass items; embroidered products; and Ikat, Banarasi, and woolen textiles. TALKS What the Nation Really Needs to Know at Jawaharlal Nehru University
Professors at JNU are organising a teach-in this week to discuss ‘India, The Nation and Nationalism’, concepts that have been fiercely debated throughout the country in light of recent events. On Friday, G. Arunima, professor at the Centre for Women’s Studies, will speak on ‘The Nation and Its Regions: How Does it All Add Up?’; Saturday will feature a talk by Nivedita Menon, professor of comparative politics, titled ‘The Nation is a Daily Plebiscite: Thoughts on Nationalism’. Ayesha Kidwai of the Centre for Linguistics will speak on ‘Languages or Mother Tongues? India’s Constitution and its Linguistic Diversity’ on Sunday. There is no entry fee. FILM Sayonara Fraulein at the Japan Foundation
Kazuki Omori’s 1987 film is the story of Ikuko, a college student who is fired from her job. Discouraged, she goes back home, only to find that her father wants to return to the stage as a singer and her mother wants to become a dolphin trainer. Confused about her own purpose, Ikuko embarks on a quest of discovery with her old friend Mari. The film will be shown in Japanese with subtitles in English. There is no entry fee.
