To mark Parsi New Year, which was celebrated Wednesday, August 17, The Bombay Canteen in Lower Parel is serving a special Canteenwalla Menu for lunch and dinner. Kainaz Contractor, who owns the Rustom’s Parsi Bhonu restaurant in Delhi and caterers Shirin Adenwalla and Perzen Patel and home cook Katy Billimoria from Mumbai have contributed recipes for the menu. The a la carte specials include Russian pattice pao sandwich; kheema kebabs; jardaloo ma gos (slow-cooked lamb shank with apricots); saas ni machhi; nariyal na doodh ma cauliflower (cauliflower cooked in coconut milk topped with puff pastry); lagan nu custard ice cream; and sitaphal Parsi ravo. TALKS ‘Feminism and Fashion – Navigating a Knotty Terrain’ at Godrej India Culture Lab
Organised by Lakme Fashion Week, which will take place from Wednesday, August 24 to Sunday, August 28, the website The Ladies Finger and Godrej India Culture Lab, this event will feature a performance by spoken word artist Sharanya Manivannan and a panel discussion with comedian Mallika Dua; Laila Tyabji, the founder of NGO Dastkar; fashion designer Anita Dongre and Nisha Susan, the co-founder of The Ladies Finger. ART Sameer Kulavoor at Café Zoe
City-based visual artist Sameer Kulavoor’s first solo show Please Have A Seat, which he exhibited at Kala Ghoda venue Artisans’ in April, will be on display at Lower Parel’s Cafe Zoe for a month.
