Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani tickled Twitter's funny bone, once again, when she said that she was once denied a job by Jet Airways. According to the minister, the airline rejected her application for the role of a cabin crew member on the grounds that she lacked "good personality".
The minister was speaking at an awards function organised by the Air Passengers Association of India on Wednesday. Her comment followed an award she presented to a Jet Airways official.
"I don't know if many people know that one of the first jobs that I wanted and I lined up for was cabin crew at Jet," the television actor-turned- politician said. "I was rejected because I was told I don't have a good personality. Thank God for your rejection. After that, I got a job at McDonald's and the rest is history."
Never one to lose an opportunity to outrage or be amused, Twitter quickly responded to Irani with funny comments.
What did Smriti Irani do in order for Jet Airways to decide her personality was bad?

'Seatbelt theek karo, beta.' to the pilot, maybe?
Never say die. If you can't be an air hostess, try harder, you'll be a minister. Jet Airways

Jet Airways figured years ago what India found out later: That Smriti Irani didn't have a good personality. I will fly with them more often.

How shocking that @smritiirani was rejected by Jet Airways for an airhostess position 'cause of her lack of personality 🙄 Note the sarcasm.

Wonder what would happen to Jet Airways, if @smritiirani becomes Civil Aviation Minister in the next Cabinet Reshuffle. 😂
