ART TALKS The Theatre of E. Alkazi + ‘Collecting Practices I: Seminar on Acting Methodologies’ at the National Gallery of Modern Art
An exhibition of photographs and art works of the work of pioneering theatre practitioner and founder of the National School of Drama Ebrahim Alkazi. The show marks Alkazi’s ninetieth birthday. FILM Nostalgia for the Light at the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum
Patricio Guzman’s 2010 documentary Nostalgia for the Light draws a parallel between the culture of astronomy in Chile and the atrocities committed during the Pinochet regime. Chile’s observatories are located in the Atacama desert. The sands of the same desert are mined by a group of ageing women whose loved ones were killed during Pinochet’s time and buried in mass graves. The film in Spanish will be screened with English subtitles. Attendees will have to pay the museum’s entry fees. Tickets for Indians are priced at Rs 10 per person for adults and Rs 5 per person for children below the age of 13, and tickets for foreigners are priced at Rs 100 per person for adults and Rs 50 per person for children below the age of 13.
