Over its two seasons, Eco India — a sustainability magazine show by Scroll.in and DW — has showcased inspiring eco-initiatives from all over India. It brought to light efforts of eco heroes from all walks of life — environmental activists, eco-preneurs, regular citizens and even kids. From waste management and ethical clothing to welfare of stray dogs and zero-emission innovations, Eco India took a look at the range of pressing ecological issues these eco heroes are solving for.
In search for authentic stories, Eco India’s Doing Your Bit contest crowdsourced eco projects from across the country and provided the winning entries with cash support and visibility on the Eco India platform.
The show further took its community engagement efforts offline, starting with a discussion with Abodh Aras, CEO of Welfare of Stray Dogs in Mumbai. It also hosted a cultural event at Mumbai’s Mahim Creek in collaboration with #MahimBeachCleanUp — a community-driven initiative to keep Mahim beach clean and plastic-free.
After 39 well-received episodes, contests and on-ground community engagement efforts, Eco India is back with its third season, featuring even more inspiring eco heroes. Take a peek at the new season below.
Eco India Season 3 will premiere on 6th September, 2019. This time around, the show will also be available in Hindi. You can tune into the series on the DW channel and all Scroll.in channels (Facebook, Youtube and Hotstar). Catch the first episode of the series this Friday, here.
