India’s Laxmirani Majhi was eliminated from the women's individual archery event on Monday, losing to Slovakia's Alexandra Longova in four sets in the round of 64.
Majhi finished 43rd out of a field of 64 in the ranking round, and was up against Longova, who ranked 22nd. Majhi was hoping to put the disappointment of Sunday's loss in the women’s team archery quarter-finals to Russia behind her. However, the 27-year-old lost the fourth set 27-24 and was eliminated from the competition with the final score reading seven set points to one.
Manjhi lost the first set 25-27 followed by a 26-28 loss in the second. However, she tied the third set 26-26 and also shot a 10 to win her only set point in the match. With this loss, Majhi’s Olympic campaign has come to an end.
