Barcelona followed up on their 2-0 win away from home by cruising past Sevilla at Camp Nou, pocketing the tie with a 5-0 aggregate to lift the Spanish Super Cup. Turkish winger Arda Turan was the star of the show with two goals. Lionel Messi also added his name to the scoresheet. The Super Cup was the only trophy missing from Barca manager Luis Enrique's cabinet.

The scoreline might have flattered Barcelona at the end as it was the slick-passing Sevilla who almost took the lead in the game. Claudio Bravo, who was spectacular between the sticks, dived full length to his left to palm away Wissam Ben Yedder's strike.

Barca picked themselves up and went ahead in the 10th minute of the game. It was Messi's gorgeous through ball that set goalscorer Turan through.

French defender Samuel Umtiti, making his debut for the five-time European champions, paved the way for Sevilla to get back in the game, handling the ball in the box; a penalty was awarded. Yet again, the Blaugrana breathed easy with the indomitable Bravo between the sticks. The Chilean guessed the right way and parried Vincent Iborra's penalty.

Turan scored his second shortly after the break, blasting a sublime curler past goalkeeper Sergio Rico. Messi added a third with a smart header and Barca cruised home. Another debutant, Portuguese Andre Gomes, also had a solid start to his career at the Cataluniya club. The capacity crowd serenaded Bravo by chanting his name; the goalie is rumoured to be joining the Pep Guardiola revolution at Manchester City.

Barcelona begin their La Liga campaign this Saturday against Real Betis. Sevilla will be hosting Espanyol in their first outing.
