Andy Murray's 22-match unbeaten run came to an end on Sunday as the Briton was stunned by Marin Cilic 6-4, 7-5 in the final of the Cincinnati Masters. Fresh from defending his Olympic gold medal at Rio, the top seed had his service broken twice in the first set by the Croat. Murray fought back in the second set, but Cilic held his nerve to take the title.

After going down in the first set, Murray was back in his groove in the second. But, at 5-5, he was broken again and Cilic held on to serve for the match, registering only his third win against the world No. 2 in 14 meetings.

Murray was on the best run of his career. After losing the French Open final to Novak Djokovic, the 29-year-old clinched the Wimbledon title for the second time before winning the gold medal at Rio.
