A three-person contingent – Jitu Rai, Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Sanjeev Rajput – will be representing India at the International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup finals to be held next month in the Italian cities of Bologna and Roma, according to PTI.

Rai, who recently received the Khel Ratna, will be participating in two pistol events – the men's 10 metre and 50 metre. Rajput will represent the country in the men's 50 metre rifle 3 positions event.

The 40-year old Mairaj Ahmad Khan, who narrowly missed out on qualifying for the finals of the men's skeet shooting competition at Rio, will take part in the same event.

While the rifle and pistol events are to be held in Bologna from October 4-10, the shotgun events will take place in Rome from October 10-16.

The top eight performers of the year along with the defending champions in each discipline, along with all Olympic medallists (if it is an Olympic year) qualify for the finals.
