The big news: City take on United, again
Manchester United have a shot at avenging their 1-2 defeat to arch rivals Manchester City when they take on their cross-city rivals again in the fourth round of the EFL Cup. The match will be played at Old Trafford in the last week of October.
United beat League One side Northampton 3-1 on Wednesday, while City won 2-1 at Swansea. Defending champions City are yet to lose under Pep Guardiola this season. United ended a run of three successive defeats, a sequence that had started with the derby loss.
Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford were on target for United as they dispatched Northampton in a clinical display.
Elsewhere, West Ham will host London rivals Chelsea, while Tottenham travel to Liverpool. The ties will be played in the week beginning 24 October.

In other matches, Roma beat Crotone 4-0 to move up to third while Inter Milan registered back-to-back wins with a 2-0 victory over Empoli.
- Turkish club Antalyaspor have dropped Samuel Eto'o from their squad until further notice after the striker posted what was considered a racist remark on social media. Eto’o wrote on his Instagram account: "Perhaps some people do not feel respect for me because I am black."
- Bengaluru FC made it to the semi-finals of the Asian Football Confederation Cup (AFC) after drawing 0-0 with Tampines Rovers away in Singapore on Wednesday. BFC went into the game with an aggregate score of 1-0 in the two legged-tie.
- The India Under-16 team bowed out of the Asian Football Confederation Under-16 championships after Iran thrashed them 3-0 on Wednesday and booked their spot in the quarter-final. India failed to win a single match in this competition.
