Gaganjeet Bhullar recorded his sixth Asian tour win, overcoming a five-shot overnight deficit to clinch the Shinhan Donghae Open in Incheon on Sunday. At the end of round three, Bhullar was tied fourth, but recovered brilliantly to complete a one-shot win against Zimbabwe's Scott Vincent and South Korea's Tae-woo Kim. The victory was Bhullar's seventh in international tournaments.
Bhullar opened his account for the day with a birdie on the second, but a bogey on the fourth brought him back on par. Bhullar was in red-hot form soon after and landed consecutive birdies on the sixth and the seventh.
The 28-year-old went from strength to strength and got birdies on the 10th, 12th, 13th and 14th holes. Bhullar had a minor setback when he bogeyed on the 16th and 17th, but recovered with a par on the final hole. This proved to be good enough for the Indian to win the title as Vincent couldn't birdie the last hole and take the match to a playoff. Bhullar only becomes the second Indian – after Jeev Milkha Singh in 1994 – to win the Shinhan Donghae Open.
