India entered the final of the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup with a commanding 73-20 win over Thailand in the second semi-final on Friday in Ahmedabad. Thailand were completely outclassed by India who will meet Iran in their third straight World Cup final on Saturday.
India raced off the blocks with some confident raids and captain Anup Kumar finding a bonus point as well. Manjeet Chhillar easily headed off a Thai raider and within no time, India had sped off to a 5-0 lead and had executed their first all-out to take a commanding 11-2 lead.
A raid with an added bonus point from Ajay Thakur continued the misery for Thailand and Pardeep Narwal found another touch point. By this point, India were running riot with Thailand withering under their onslaught. A raid from Pardeep and Sandeep Narwal meant that India got another all-out going their way, powering to a 27-6 lead.
The third all-out duly arrived before the break as India went into half-time with a commanding 36-8 lead.
The half-century mark was breached early in the second half with Pardeep Narwal getting a Super 10 with another touch point. Thailand finally had some reason to celebrate as they got a tackle point to make it to the 10-mark. Nitin Tomar pulled off a super raid to execute India's sixth all-out in the game to make the score 64-10.
Thailand got a few points back towards the end but India were unrelenting and coasted to a comprehensive victory, with the final scoreline reading 73-20.
