The big news: Messi nets two in victory
Lionel Messi scored an injury-time penalty as Barcelona came from behind to beat Valencia 3-2 and rise to the top of the La Liga table. Messi gave Barcelona a controversial lead after an offside owing to Luis Suarez was outdone by his low shot.
Valencia then fought back to take a 2-1 advantage with goals from Munir el Haddadi and Rodrigo. However, Suarez equalised, before winning a penalty in added time which Messi scored for the win.
The result takes Barcelona a point ahead of second-placed Atletico Madrid.
