Lewis Hamilton won the Mexican Grand Prix on Sunday to keep his title hopes alive as teammate Nico Rosberg finished second.

With the win, Hamilton cut the point’s deficit in the Drivers' Championship with Rosberg down to 19 and with two races to go, in Brazil and Abu Dhabi, the German has the edge. Rosberg can win the title by finishing second to Hamilton in the last two races of the season. With 50 available, Rosberg will hope to wrap up proceedings in Brazil in two weeks and win his first title. Hamilton completed the race in 1:40:31.402 with Rosberg +8.354 seconds behind the Brit, who won his 51st race.

Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel finished third after Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was penalised 5 seconds for leaving the track and gaining the advantage. However, Vettel too was penalised for his face-off against Verstappen at the end of the race and ended up fourth with teammate Daniel Ricciardo being promoted hours after the race was over.
