Champions League football can often bring out the best in teams, given the level of competition involved. Encounters can be high-octane, often with a flurry of goals. Wednesday night was no different with Real Madrid involved in a six-goal thriller with Polish side Legia Warsaw.
Madrid were buoyed with Gareth Bale’s tremendous performance during the night as Cristiano Ronaldo continued to suffer in front of goal. Karim Benzema and Mateo Kovacic scored the remaining two goals for Madrid with Gareth Bale setting up Benzema for the second.
