As Rohit Sharma recuperates from a thigh injury, we relive a memory that is etched in memory of every Indian cricket fan as they relive his record-breaking knock of 264 runs. Sharma is the only batsman in the world to score two ODI double hundreds. However, his knock of 264 against Sri Lanka is the highest by any batsman in the 50-over format of the game.

Sharma was up against Sri Lanka at his favourite hunting ground the Eden Gardens on November 13, 2014. Sharma was returning to the game after a gap of 10 weeks owing to injury. Sharma opened the innings with Ajinkya Rahane. Sharma batted till the end as demolished the Sri Lankan bowling attack. His innings was studded with 33 boundaries and nine towering sixes. As a result, India posted a mammoth 404-run total and eventually won the match by 153 runs. It was his second double ton in ODIs. Earlier, he had hit 209 runs against Australia at Bangalore in 2013.
