Ireland’s Conor McGregor knocked out Philadelphia’s Eddie Alvarez in the second round to win the Ulimate Fighting Championship lightweight title and become the first fighter in UFC history to hold two titles simultaneously.

The Irishman was at his dominating best as the bout began in a sold out Madison Square Garden at UFC 205. McGregor is now the reigning featherweight and lightweight champion. However, UFC has not decided if McGregor will be allowed to defend both championships.

McGregor attacked Alvarez with his fiery punches and the reach he had over his opponent. McGregor dropped Alvarez three times in the first round. Alvarez, however, worked his way out for the two take downs but, took a severe beating on the third. In the second round, McGregor toyed with Alvarez before knocking him out for the win.
