Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton won a rain-hit Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paulo on Sunday and with the win, cut his Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg’s lead at the top of the Driver’s Championship, to 12 points.

Hamilton completed the race in 3:01.01.335 with Rosberg coming in second +11.455 seconds behind the Brit. The title will now be decided in the final race at Abu Dhabi on November 27. Rosberg will win the championship if he finishes third or better, even if Hamilton wins. This was Hamilton’s 52nd career win, making him the second most successful race winner of all time, ahead of Alain Prost (51). Michael Schumacher is way ahead on 91. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished third as the 19-year-old produced yet another scintillating show. .

This was Hamilton’s ninth win in 2016 in race, which saw several high-speed accidents, two stoppages and five safety cars. Kimi Raikkonen suffered a horrible looking crash which ended his Brazil trip without crossing the finishing line. Local boy Felipe Massa also crashed in lap 48 as he called time on his career last week. This was his last race in Brazil as a Formula One driver.
