PV Sindhu entered the semi-finals of the China Open in Fuzhou on Friday after defeating He Bingjiao 22-20, 21-10.

Bingjiao stretched the Olympic silver medalist in the first game, but was left chasing the Indian in the second.

Sindhu has been on top of her game through the tournament. She was stretched to three games and had to come from a game down to beat United States’ Beiwen Zhang in the quarters. On Friday though, Sindhu looked far more in control of the situation and recovered well to dominate the second game.

Earlier, Ajay Jayaram bowed out after losing 21-15, 21-14 to Olympic champion and tournament favourite Chen Long in his quarterfinal clash.

Jayaram, who went into the game with a 0-4 head-to-head record against the two-time world champion, put up a good fight, but was thoroughly outclassed.
