The Indian men’s hockey team beat Malaysia to finish third in the Four Nations tournament on Sunday. India outclassed their opponents 4-1 as they dismantled the Malaysian defence at regular intervals.
India played in an aggressive manner, dominating possession as the whistle blew. Akashdeep Singh scored within two minutes to give India the lead.
Captain VR Raghunath doubled the lead in the 45th minute to make it 2-0. However, Malaysia immediately pulled one back to make 2-1. However, India upped the ante as Talwinder Singh and Rupinder Pal Singh scored within a span of six minutes to complete the 4-1 rout. With the win, India finished third with a fairly young side.
