The big news: India cruising towards 2-0
India are on course for a 2-0 lead in the five-Test series against England after going in to lunch on the third day in Mohali with England struggling at 156/7, a lead of just 22. Resuming at 78/4, England lost Gareth Batty and Jos Buttler in quick succession. Joe Root provided some defiance with a well-composed 78 but also nicked to slip at the end.

The Lodha Committee has asked for the removal of all Board of Control for Cricket in India office-bearers and the appointment of former Union Home Secretary GK Pillai as an observer on November 21.
- Madhya Pradesh captain Devendra Bundela will play his 137th Ranji Trophy match on Tuesday. He turns 40 next month and is still nowhere close to retirement. He first started as a 19-year old in 1995-’96 and is set to become the most-capped cricketer in the tournament’s 83-year history.
- South Africa coach Russell Domingo wants his team to be more consistent after winning their third successive series triumph in Australia this week. Under Domingo’s watch, South Africa slipped from No. 1 to No. 7 on the Test rankings last summer, but have now begun to climb. They are at No. 5 currently, and Domingo admitted that a lot of work is still to be done.
- Pakistan retained the same squad when they take on Australia in the three-match Test series next month. Sharjeel Khan and Mohammad Rizwan retained their place for the tour down under.
