The Board of Control for Cricket in India has received a breather after the Supreme Court on Monday adjourned the hearing to discuss the implementation of the Justice RM Lodha committee report till December 9, due to the unavailability of Justice TS Thakur, who is part of the Bench presiding over the case.

The apex court was was likely to announce its verdict on Monday, but will now convene on Friday. In its last status report, the Lodha panel had recommended the removal of all ineligible office-bearers from the Board and the appointment of former home secretary GK Pillai as an observer.

Ahead of the hearing, the BCCI had held a Special General Meeting in Mumbai, where members decided to maintained its opposition to some of the Lodha panel recommendations which have since been accepted by the Supreme Court.
