India Under-19 rode on back of a fine century by 18-year-old Daryl Sunder Ferrario as they declared at 431/8 on day three of their four-day game against England Under-19 at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground in Nagpur on Wednesday.
Resuming on 156/2, India lost two quick wickets as overnight batsmen Jonty Sidhu (33) and Saurabh Singh (62) perished with India at 176/4 in reply to England’s first innings total of 501/5 declared.
Ferrario, though held the innings together. He shared an 87-run stand with RI Thakur for the fifth wicket. Sunder finally fell after nearly four hours at the crease off Henry Brookes. His knock included 14 fours.
India’s tail wagged as well with Sijomon Joseph (62*) helped the home side declare just 70 runs short of England’s target.
In their second innings, England were handed an early blow as pacer Kanishk Seth sent first innings centurion, Max Holden, back into the hut to hand India momentum heading into day four. England were 23/1 when stumps were drawn.
