Indian women’s team drubbed Belarus 5-1 in the first hockey Test in Bhopal on Thursday, PTI reported.

Playing their first match since the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy triumph last year, India took the lead in the 11th minute with a penalty corner conversion. She doubled the lead four minutes later with a fine field goal to help India go into the first break with a two-goal advantage.

Punam Barla made it 3-0 in the 29th minute. Belarus pulled one back through Sviatlana Bahushevich in the 37th minute to stay in contention heading into the final quarter.

India, though, came back strongly and scored two more times. Skipper Deep Grace Ekka found the back of the net in the 57th minute before Gurjit Kaur struck three minutes later.
