Barcelona thrashed Celta Vigo 5-0 in their La Liga clash on Saturday. Star striker Lionel Messi scored two superb individual goals as Barcelona produced sublime football and return to the top of La Liga table. However, title contenders Real Madrid are a point behind on 59 with a game in hand.
Messi made it 1-0 in the 24th minute as Neymar doubled the lead just before the first half ended. In the second half, goals from Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti made it 4-0 before Messi scored his second of the night. If they produce a similar display against Paris St-Germain on Wednesday, then they will be able to overturn the 4-0 deficit.
Atletico Madrid moved to the fourth spot with a comfotable 3-0 win over Valencia on Sunday. Antoine Griezmann scored twice with Kevin Gameiro also chipping in with a goal to seal the win.
